About the Role:
The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer - Computing and Interface Products will be responsible for generating requirements and the design, debug, and test of ruggedized electrical hardware circuit boards and assembliesOn-site presence:
Hybrid - Due to the nature of the work, this role may require on-site presence up to 90%.o Design and Develop Electrical Components and Subsystems for Processing and Interface Products.o Concept to production delivery support including design, debug, test, and qualification.o Support system architecture analysis, trade studies, and participate in associated engineering reviews.o Review and develop Hardware and Software requirement documents and test plans.o Support circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and builds.o Develop Engineering Design Fixes, and Coordinate Solutions.o Strong record keeping skills with commitment to tracking design changes, debug status, Hardware and Software revisions.o Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications / What you must have:
o Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering.o Minimum of 2 years' applicable experience required.o Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.o Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.o Strong multi-tasking skills.o The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skillsKnowledge in many, but not all, of the following areas desired:
o Digital and Analog design including power and thermal analysis.o Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.o Microprocessor based products and Single Board Form Factors:
Intel, AMD, ARM, VPX, VME, COM Express.o Embedded Microcontroller H/W and programming skills (C, C++, Visual Studio).o Industry standard interfaces and products (PCle, DDRxx, USB, SATA, RS422/485, MIL-1553, Ethernet, CAN, RS422/485, Solid State Drives).o Graphics/video interfaces (HDMI, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, RS-170, LVDS).o FPGA Design and Simulation (Xilinx Toolsets).o EMI/EMC, High Speed Signal Integrity design practices.o Military design and test requirements including MIL-1275, MIL-461, MIL-464, MIL-810.o Six Sigma design tools including DFMEA and Reliability AnalysisAdditional Information / Desired
Experience:
o This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance(Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).o Previous experience working on ground combat Vehicles desired.o Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as requiredUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT:
